Beth Phoenix made a triumphant return at WWE Day 1 to help Edge to victory over The Miz.

The Hall of Famer came to her husband’s aid on Saturday night as she evened the odds in his bout with the A-Lister, who had his own wife Maryse interfering throughout the bout.

After another incident riled up the live crowd in Atlanta, the Glamazon appeared on the stage and her music hit moments later as she walked down the ramp and caused a distraction of her own.

It left The Miz open for a Spear, leading to a three count and a big with for the Rated R Superstar, who had already delighted fans before the bell already rang with his Brood-inspired entrance.

Now, fans will be expecting a mixed tag team bout between the two real life couples, with a ready made story and more than enough talent across all four superstars to create something special.

Whether that happens at WrestleMania 38 or the next Saudi Arabia event is anyone’s guess, but it’s sure to deliver when the moment comes.

Phoenix had been serving on the NXT commentary desk for the past associate of years before stepping down from her role after last month’s War Games event.

She tweeted at the time: ‘Ahead of WarGames, I wanted to proportion that this Sunday will be my final night in NXT. While I will keep a part of WWE, I have made the choice to step away from the weekly broadcast booth to use more time with my family.

‘This was not an easy decision, as I have loved my three plus years and 135 episodes with NXT and am incredibly proud of the brand.’

Beth paid tribute to her various broadcast partners, in addition as NXT bosses Triple H and Shawn Michaels, and the whole team.

She additional: ‘I will forever be grateful to Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett, Nigel McGuinness, Tom Phillips, Mauro Ranallo, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Michael Cole, and my complete NXT family both in and out of the ring for the amazing opportunity.

‘NXT will always be a part of me and Auntie Betty will always be a part of NXT. Leave the porch light on for me!’
