Real Housewives of New York alum Bethenny Frankel is in hot water over ‘transphobic’ comments she made during a discussion about gender identity and pronoun use in her daughter’s all-girl school.

The outspoken reality star came under fire following the release of the September 23 episode of her podcast, Just B with Bethenny Frankel in which she discussed a summer camp experience relating to 11-year-old daughter Brynn’s classmates.

The Bravo star shared responses she heard about from other parents after a ‘person with a penis’ who identified as a girl was placed in a bunk with girls.

The Skinnygirl mogul stated: ‘It’s an all-girls camp and a person with a penis, who identifies as being a girl, went to the camp and was in the bunk with the girls.

‘And the girls saw her — because it’s her, because it’s a male anatomy but identifying as a woman — so the other girls saw a penis.’

Bethenny said ‘the parents clearly weren’t that happy’ and additional that she heard ‘this girl with a penis was making out with a lot of different girls at the camp.’

The 50-year-old also shared her frustrations over having to have the ‘pronoun conversation’ with her daughter’s teachers.

The reality star also noted that her daughter was ‘amazing’ when it comes to the topic of gender identity as she commented: ‘My daughter understands all of this, it’s amazing, they have different language, different understandings, but she also hasn’t seen a penis.

‘So, in a camp, she’d see girl parts so I think these conversations are also fluid. It’s an interesting conversation about a girl, female anatomy being in a male anatomy bunk or vice versa.’

Some of the podcast comments sparked an angry backlash on Twitter as several listeners accused the TV star of being transphobic, to which she replied: ‘Nominate me for cancelation. There are, like, five others before you so take a number.’

The business mogul replied to another critic and stated: ‘Listen to the podcast. Then comment. I was absolutely not wrong. And I’m going to discuss this again this week. Thankfully I have a platform to clarify what the media loves to distort. @justbpodcast ps. I’m not afraid of cancelation so not afraid of charged discussions.’

Bethenny also issued a challenge to listeners, as she wrote: ‘People have been afraid to have real conversations. If you didn’t read your script before speaking, people get so excited. Come at me. I’m here … and the conversation will continue @justbpodcast.’

When one follower insisted her comments had been ‘offensive, Bethenny replied: ‘Conversations are healthy. Try it. Doubling down. I’m not a celeb who panics in fear of cancelation Bc I didn’t say something precisely how you needed to hear it. I don’t have a transphobic bone on my body so take it in other places. (sic)

‘Watch handmaids tale. Does anyone else feel like social media has become a space for touchy feely sanctimonious preaching? What happened to people showing us what they ate for breakfast?’
