Always plug drains on sinks when not in use. Cockroaches can’t swim but they can come in by sewer pipes if the water has subsided. Many homes have septic systems instead of sewers, which make it easier for roaches to travel by pipes. Basically, you need to keep you home free from food and crumbs being left out.

You have to make sure you get all the hiding places, fractures, crevices, baseboards and under sinks. you can also place boric acid powder along the same places and then when a roach walks by it, it clings to their feet and antennae. When they ingest the powder it kills them. Boric acid is fairly safe to use and manager. Ingested in large quantities can make a human sick too. Cockroach bait houses are also effective as a supplement to spraying.
